A few of my Favourite Things...

Ok - now that you have the tune of "a few of my favoutite things" running through your head I thought it would be some Christmas fun to write new lyrics with all the lovely Irish handmade gifts that I have come across since I've started oonaghkdesigns.com:

So lets all sing together:

An Irish fairy door as small as a kitten,

A Stone family portrait shipping off to Great Britain,

Seeing Irish made crafts tied with ribbons and strings,

These are a few of my favourite things.

Pebble art pieces that start life as a doodle,

A Christmas gift Facebook page with the whole caboodle,

Moonraker Glass resin art that adds much needed bling,

These are a few of my favourite things.

When a glass breaks, it bites,

When an stone slips, it stings,

When I'm feeling sad,

I simply remember my favourite things,

And then I don’t feel so bad.

My favourite things this year are:

The Irish Fairy Door Company: Okay who doesn't love this guys? Hands up. Knew there are none of you out there. These guys are great and I have one coming this Christmas as a surprise from Sean or is that a surprise from my husband for Sean to give to me or.. well you get it.

Christmas Gift Ideas Ireland: This Facebook page is a must for any Irish person interested in buying and selling Irish - especially handmade Irish craft gifts Big thanks to them for all their promotion of all things Irish.

Yellow Moonraker ornaments:  Yellow Moonraker creates beautiful paper cuts for any occasion, especially Christmas. Check them out.

I am still taking orders for Christmas and beyond so get in contact on Oonaghkdesigns@gmail.com if you like to order a piece.

Sold out, Batman and More....

Sorry for the lack of posts. It’s been a hectic few weeks.

So where do I start. Well I suppose firstly I should say that I have sold out all my initial stone art designs.
I’m thrilled. When I started this project I made 17 of them and now they are all gone.
The feedback has been immense and all the nervousness from that first craft fair when I sold none has now evaporated.
I have been doing a lot of commission pieces - the family portrait pictures seem to be a big hit which is great.

Four of my pieces are proudly on display at the lovely new Garden shop "The Flower Pot" on Main Street in Charleville while another three are going on sale at a new online shop  - www.darlingviolets.com/

It’s all go.

Thankfully it’s not been all business -  we managed to go for a lovely walk in Woodstock gardens, in Inistioge, Kilkenny, with Batman in tow. Check out the pictures.  Beautiful place to visit and great inspiration for my pictures! :)

Stones, Pebbles and more stones...

Spent a glorious Bank holiday Monday in Tramore yesterday gathering stones and getting inspired by nature and all the different shapes and sizes. I never thought I would get excited about stones! :)

Brought my little helper with me as at 6 months pregnant I'm finding it harder to keep bending down to gather stones but he spent most of his time asleep in the car while I braved the cold bracing wind....

Ended the day in a lovely cafe in Tramore called Vee which had yummy toasted sambos and rich hot chocolate to warm the bones.

Anyway, ended up getting loads of new ideas and now thinking of maybe doing a few Christmas themed stone art pictures - would love to know if anyone would be interested in them..

Yours in stones
